Office Policies

Appointments & Consultations in our Long Island offices

Plastic (cosmetic) surgeon Dr. Mark D. Epstein, M.D., F.A.C.S., serving Stony Brook, Hampton Bays, and all surrounding areas of Long Island and Suffolk County. To schedule an appointment please call (631) 689-1100.

Cancellations

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 48 hours notice. This courtesy on your part will make it possible to give your appointment to another patient.

Emergencies

Our office provides on-call service for emergencies, 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. Call (631) 689-1100 and Dr. Epstein will be contacted immediately.

Health Insurance Plans

Our office participates with some health insurance plans which cover certain reconstructive plastic and hand surgery procedures. Covered procedures will vary with each insurance company — our office staff will assist you in determining eligibility. Patients are responsible for deductibles, co-payments and remaining balances. Patients also have the option of paying office and surgical fees in advance and then receiving their insurance reimbursement check directly from their insurance company.

If you have any questions when filling out these forms, please do the best you can, our staff will assist you with your questions on the day of your visit.

If you are being seen for a problem/lesion/growth/cancer on your skin, please bring copies of biopsy reports and pertinent studies and notes from any other treating physician to your initial visit.

Financing

Most medical insurance plans will not usually cover cosmetic procedures. Our office is able to assist you with a financing program for elective medical procedures. Patients may be pre-approved for financing with a low-interest monthly payment plan. Our surgical coordinators would be pleased to provide you with further details.
