JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA™

Juvederm Volbella Long Island | Lip Enhancement NY

*results may vary
The signs of aging cannot be avoided. Fortunately, we can help you ease them with the appropriate treatment. We are pleased to offer the latest filler in the JUVÉDERM® family, Volbella. This hyaluronic acid gel has been widely used in Canada and the UK for years, and now our Stony Brook patients can embrace the benefits of this anti-aging treatment.

How many Volbella treatments will I need?

Volbella is designed to achieve noticeable wrinkle-reduction and lip enhancement in just one treatment. However, it is our intent to create the most natural result. We do not want you to look overly-plump and “done.” Because the final result of Volbella treatment may take up to four days to be revealed due to post-treatment swelling, you may decide on a follow-up treatment to further enhance the appearance of your lips.

Is Volbella right for me?

If your lips have lost volume over the years, or never reached the fullness you would like, Volbella may be an excellent treatment choice for you. This product is also used to correct asymmetry of the lips, and to smooth lines and wrinkles around the mouth and nose. The best way to determine the appropriate product or procedure is to consult with an experienced clinician who will listen to your expectations and also perform a thorough assessment of your skin. We would be happy to provide you with the personal attention you need to plan the best course of treatment.

How does Volbella work?

Like other JUVÉDERM® products, Volbella is a hyaluronic acid filler. We all naturally have hyaluronic acid in our body. This sugar compound is vital to collagen preservation in the skin as well as in the joints and the eyes. Volbella works by inserting the smooth hyaluronic acid gel into areas of the face in which volume loss has occurred. Injecting minimal amounts of product into the lips or into lines attracts water molecules to that area, where they bind with the gel for greater fullness.

What areas can be treated by Volbella?

Volbella has been developed using Vycross technology. This creates a smooth, soft consistency that makes this particular filler an excellent choice for restoring fullness to the lips. Volbella is also used for the fine lines that form around the mouth, and may be used for other superficial wrinkles.

Is Volbella permanent?*

One of the advantages of hyaluronic acid soft tissue fillers is the natural chemical makeup of these products. Because hyaluronic acid already exists in the body, the immune system knows how to respond in a biocompatible manner. Over time, just as natural hyaluronic acid is metabolized, the product injected is, as well.
Another advantage of Volbella for lip treatments is the longevity of results, built in with Vycross technology. While other fillers last up to six months, data suggests that Volbella can last up to one year. However, factors such as diet and age also affect the speed at which product is metabolized. Every patient is different, and will schedule touch-up treatments in their unique timing.

Is Volbella expensive?

Like other JUVÉDERM® products, Volbella is a cost-effective method of facial rejuvenation. A consultation will determine the amount of filler you need, which enables us to provide you with the total cost of treatment.

What are Volbella side effects?*

Immediately after your Volbella treatment, your lips may appear noticeably inflated. This is due to the minimal swelling that occurs. This subsides over a few days, revealing the voluminous, well-defined lips you had imagined.
As the Volbella filler integrates into the tissues around your mouth, it is important to avoid touching the area. Massaging the lips will cause the product to disperse, affecting the final result. During the first four to five days following treatment, there is a potential for slight redness and irritation. Generally, these minor side effects can be disguised with makeup. In some cases, patients report slight itching, which is a normal, though relatively rare side effect.
