How to Tighten Skin without Surgery

Sagging skin is inevitable. With every passing birthday starting at around 25, our bodies produce less collagen and elastin. Think of it like slowly losing the foundation on your house. The end result is loose, sagging skin. How fast this happens will depend on a number of factors such as:

  • genetics
  • sun exposure
  • diet
  • exercise
  • whether you live in or near a big city with a lot of pollution

But sagging skin happens to everyone. Itโ€™s also been one of the hardest things for me to effectively treat without surgery. Thatโ€™s why I am so excited to offer my Long Island area patients BodyTite, FaceTite, and AccuTite, the new heroes on the block when it comes to non-surgical skin tightening.

What are BodyTite, FaceTite & AccuTite?

BodyTite, and its sister procedures FaceTite and AccuTite, use radiofrequency assisted lipolysis (RFALยฎ) to safely and consistently heat the dermal tissues from both above and below. The end result is less fat and tighter skin in the treatment area. The device itself is a probe with two prongs, one of which I insert through a pinprick sized hole. The bottom probe moves beneath your skin while the top probe moves on top of your skin. The radiofrequency energy travels between the ends of these two probes, allowing me to heat the deeper layers of your dermal tissues. The bodyโ€™s natural response to this heat is to produce more collagen and elastin. This, in turn, lifts and tightens the skin so that you look more rejuvenated.

BodyTite vs. ThermiTight

Non-surgical skin tightening treatments with radiofrequency (RF) are not new. If youโ€™ve been a patient of mine then you may remember that I used to use ThermiTight. However, I switched over to the BodyTite modalities in 2017 because I find that the results are far superior. Every device in this platform is a BiPolar device which means that I can get a greater concentration of the RF energy into a specific area. The platform also delivers a much safer procedure because the top probe constantly monitors the surface temperature of your skin. It the temperature gets too high, the device automatically shuts off.

Advantages of Non-Surgical Skin Tightening

There are so many advantages to non-surgical skin tightening. My patients lead busy lives. They have dual-career households and kids with all of the extracurricular activities that now entails. So, assuming that one is a candidate for non-surgical skin tightening, I love being able to offer my patients the option of BodyTite, FaceTime, or AccuTite as there is:

  • no surgery
  • no downtime
  • no incision
  • no scar

You can have the procedure and go back to work the next day. Itโ€™s also not one of those procedures that need to be repeated every month. Some patients may decide to get another one down the road while others may decide that itโ€™s time for surgery. But there is no downside to having a FaceTite procedure, for example. In fact, I think that it may even make it a little easier to do a facelift since youโ€™ll already have some preemptive skin tightening before surgery.

BodyTite, FaceTite & AccuTite Are a Win-Win

Honestly, these procedures are really a win-win. While BodyTite and FaceTite treat large areas, AccuTite is designed to address smaller areas. Between the three, I have the option of treating almost anywhere on your body including your:

  • abdomen
  • buttocks
  • love handles
  • hips
  • inner/outer thighs
  • knees
  • arms
  • neck/jawline
  • howling
  • drooping brow line
  • mild submental fat
  • bra rolls
  • hands
  • bat wings
  • marionette lines
  • nasolabial folds

So, if sagging skin is getting you down, make an appointment to come in and speak with me about non-surgical skin tightening. With basically no downtime, you could have BodyTite on your abdomen in early August and be feeling more confident in your bathing suit by Labor Day.
