You want a younger-looking face, but you prefer to achieve your desired appearance without surgery, then Silhouette InstaLift could be a great option for you. The Silhouette InstaLift is an innovative technique performed to diminish the signs of aging without the complexities of a full surgical procedure.
What is Silhouette InstaLift?
The Silhouette InstaLift is a facial contouring procedure that is performed in our comfortable clinical setting. This technique has been conducted in the UK for several years, and American physicians are now gaining the necessary training to provide the Silhouette InstaLift to patients in need of an aesthetic boost. Dr. Epstein is proud to be one of the first surgeons to offer this procedure in our area.
This non-surgical, minimally-invasive procedure gives you want you want: “just that much” lift.
How is Silhouette InstaLift performed?
The in-office procedure is conducted with local anesthetic. Once nerve sensations have been numbed, and the treatment area marked, a string of polylacticoglycolic acid resin, a sugar strand that resembles a thick suture, is inserted. What is special about this strand of sugar acid is that several bi-directional cones are affixed along its length. As the string is woven through connective tissues beneath the skin, these cones lift and support the superficial scaffolding of tissue across the mid-face and jaw line.
Benefits of InstaLift
The clear benefit of the InstaLift procedure is that no surgery is involved. This means none of the usual side effects of surgery, including down time. However, there is also a benefit to the design of the suture used in this technique. The presence of bi-directional cones lends support to the minimally-invasive “thread-lift” type of procedure. This is a significant advance forward from original techniques.
The use of polylacticoglycolic acid resin is also advantageous, as tissue naturally accepts this material. As tissue heals around the string, collagen proliferation increases. This leads to a secondary and long-term benefit: firmer, younger-looking skin.
The results of the Silhouette InstaLift last up to 3 years, and the procedure has an appealing price point, as well.
Ideal candidate for InstaLift
The Silhouette InstaLift is a great option for men and women with normal skin thickness and good physical health. This procedure is intended to diminish the early signs of facial aging, including sagging jowls. Even patients who have previously undergone a full surgical facelift can benefit from this minimally-invasive procedure.
Many younger patients are showing an interest in this technique, due to its subtle rejuvenation of the neck, jowls, and cheeks. Rather than chase facial aging, these patients are able to slow the aesthetic changes that occur with age. The Silhouette InstaLift is not an alternative to the surgical facelift, and may not be suited to every patient. During your consultation for facial rejuvenation, one of our priorities is to gauge expectations, so the appropriate treatment can be discussed.
Characteristics of a good Silhouette InstaLift candidate include:
- Preference for non-surgical technique.
- Desire to restore facial volume.
- Signs of sagging tissue across the mid-face, jaw line, and neck.
- Realistic expectation of what is possible with a non-surgical facial contouring procedure.
Silhouette InstaLift Recovery Process
Most patients can return to their normal activities right away after their InstaLift. Minor swelling and / or bruising may occur, subsiding over about a week’s time. Intense exercise should be postponed at least one week in order to allow integration of the surgical threads.
The results of the Silhouette InstaLift may be noticed immediately and often improve over time thanks to rejuvenated collagen fibers.
What other treatments can be used with Instalift?
It is possible to combine treatments to maximize the rejuvenating effects of each. The Silhouette InstaLift may be complemented with dermal fillers, laser skin rejuvenation, ThermiTight, ThermiSmooth or skin tightening using the latest technologies.
