Board-Eligible Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Mariam Daubs joins Epstein Plastic Surgery as a board-eligible plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body, with particular interests in breast surgery and facial aesthetic surgery. For Dr. Daubs, joining the practice is something of a homecoming. She lives in Manhasset and, throughout her years of training in New York, developed deep personal and professional ties to Long Island. After training across the country and abroad, she knew she wanted to build her career close to home and serve the community she has come to know so well.

Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Daubs grew up surrounded by medicine. Her father is a cardiothoracic surgeon and her mother a cardiac ICU nurse, giving her an early appreciation for both the science of surgery and the human connection at the heart of patient care.

Dr. Daubs' academic and surgical journey has taken her through some of the nation's premier universities and medical institutions. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiological Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), followed by her Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She then completed her general surgery residency and a post-graduate research fellowship at the UNLV School of Medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada, before returning to New York to pursue advanced training in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Daubs completed her plastic and reconstructive surgery residency through the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stony Brook University, Nassau University Medical Center, and the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG), home to one of the nation’s oldest plastic surgery training programs, established in 1954. LIPSG has trained more than 130 plastic surgery residents and 35 burn fellows since its inception. Many of its graduates have gone on to become highly respected plastic surgeons throughout the country.

During her training, Dr. Daubs had the opportunity to work alongside and operate with more than 50 surgeons from leading institutions across the United States and abroad. This breadth of exposure provided her with an unusually comprehensive surgical education and helped shape her technical skill, aesthetic judgment, and meticulous approach to patient care. Her training included extensive experience in both facial and body aesthetic surgery as well as complex reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Daubs has a particular depth of experience in breast surgery and a strong focus on facial aesthetic surgery. During her training, she was invited to lecture at LIPSG on breast anatomy, congenital breast anomalies, and gynecomastia. Her research has focused on surgical outcomes, breast reconstruction, microsurgery, wound healing, and surgical technique, and her work has been recognized with the 2024 Apex Award for publication excellence and the ASPS Limitless Leaders Scholarship.

Her interest in facial aesthetic surgery is rooted in the same philosophy that guides all of her cosmetic work: creating results that are refined, natural, and individualized to the patient. She approaches facial rejuvenation with an appreciation for proportion, balance, and the subtle changes that can restore a refreshed and harmonious appearance while preserving each patient's unique features.

Throughout her career, Dr. Daubs has remained committed to advancing the field of plastic surgery through peer-reviewed research and national and regional presentations. She is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons, the New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Daubs believes that exceptional cosmetic surgery begins with listening. She takes the time to understand what each patient hopes to achieve and approaches every consultation as a collaboration. Whether performing facial rejuvenation, breast surgery, or body contouring, her goal is not to create a single definition of beauty, but to help each patient look and feel like the best version of themselves through thoughtful, individualized treatment.

Her approach is grounded in extensive surgical training, meticulous attention to detail, and a genuine warmth that she brings to every patient relationship. Her experiences living and training across different regions of the country and abroad have also shaped her broad perspective on beauty and aesthetics, allowing her to appreciate that every patient has a unique sense of what feels natural and beautiful to them.

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Daubs lives in Manhasset with her husband, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Gregory Daubs, and their three children. Having welcomed all three children during the nine years of her surgical training, she brings to her practice a particular understanding of the many demands women navigate throughout different stages of life.

Dr. Daubs is honored to begin the next chapter of her career on Long Island, combining rigorous surgical training, an academic foundation, and a personalized aesthetic philosophy to provide thoughtful, precise, and compassionate care to every patient.
