Meet Our Anesthesiologists

Meet Our Anesthesiologists – Adrienne Levy, M.D. and Brian Slepian, M.D.

I have had known and worked in the operating room with both Dr. Adrienne Levy and Dr. Brian Slepian since I was an attending plastic surgeon at University Medical Center at Stony Brook in 1994, and subsequently at the North Shore Surgi-Center in Smithtown, NY. They have been the sole provider of anesthesia services in my office based surgical facility since 2001 and have provided anesthesia services to my staff, my family and myself as well! They are both extremely gifted at the art of ambulatory based anesthesia – in other words, preparing you for not only a safe and smooth anesthetic experience, but also making it so that you are comfortable to return home shortly after your procedure is completed and you have recovered in our facility. They use state of the art equipment to provide anesthesia and monitor your vital signs as well as your progress before, during and after your surgery.

The night before your procedure, your anesthesiologist will call you and discuss your medical history, your proposed anesthetic management and answer any questions and concerns that you may have. They will also give you some instructions for the following morning. This will include instructions regarding any medications that you routinely take each day as well as when you must cease eating and drinking before your procedure. We all understand that surgery,  even elective cosmetic surgery can be an anxiety provoking experience for some people. Should you have any concerns or questions and wish to speak to them prior to this time, please notify MaryEllen, our surgical coordinator or Dr. Epstein and this can easily be arranged. We pride our selves on our accessibility to our patients and want all our patients to have as pleasant an experience as possible.
