Patient Information: Patient Information: 38 year old female underwent submuscular placement of SCM 330 cc round, smooth, silicone gel “highly cohesive” gummy filled implants and simultaneous mastopexy (Short scar “lollipop”). A second stage repair of bilateral inverted nipples was performed under local anesthesia. Cup size increase: B to C.
When performing a breast lift, because of the incision around the areola, I do not like to perform a correction of inverted nipples at the same time due to swelling and concern for having adequate blood circulation in the nipple. My preference is to bring the patient back after four months and do the inverted nipple repair under local anesthesia. The entire inverted nipple repair for both breasts takes about 20 minutes.
