Case Details

Patient information: 38 yr old female who underwent VASER lipoabdominoplasty, VASER lipo of abdomen, flanks, back, with fat transfer to hips and buttocks.

Results are shown only 3 1/2 months after surgery. Nearly all swelling is resolved, but some additional definition may occur over the next few months. The scar is clearly visible and typical of an abdominoplasty scar no matter who is the surgeon or what closure technique is used. Over the next several months the scar will fade and reach its final appearance at 1 – 2 years. All scars look pretty much this way in a woman of this age at this time after surgery and the viewer needs to understand this. Older patients tend to have less redness and earlier fading of the scar than a younger patient. Laser treatment will accelerate this process.

Note the better contoured abdomen with muscular definition and shapely waist (second row), rounder buttocks (fourth row), complete elimination of bra rolls (fifth row) and more curvaceous profile (seventh row).
