Patient Information: 52 year old female underwent VASER 4D liposuction of the abdomen and flanks. Due to the lax abdominal skin with excess at the lower abdomen, it was recommended to undergo an abdominoplasty. The patient did not want the extra downtime of this procedure. Instead, RF skin tightening was performed on the abdomen using BodyTite. Although not as effective as a surgical excision of the excess skin and tightening of the abdominal muscles (which BodyTite cannot do), there was some skin retraction and a better result was obtained on the abdomen than would have been anticipated with liposuction alone. It is also noteworthy that none of the removed fat was placed back into the buttocks and hips. The mere removal of the excess fat from the flanks allowed me to sculpt her upper buttocks, changing its shape from square to round without the need for any alteration of the buttocks themselves.
