If you have been following this blog then you know that, in my opinion, before and after photos are a crucial tool in any patient’s decision-making process. But I wrote a whole blog post on the ways in which someone can manipulate the photos. Furthermore, most patients find it challenging to notice all of the subtle improvements in an after photo because it is just a 2D image. This is why I wanted to find a better way of presenting my results.
Our before and after videos are synchronized and aligned so that you can literally see a side by side comparison of every nuanced change in the patient’s physique. This is important because healing is a process and I think it is incredibly helpful for patients to see what a scar is going to realistically look like every step of the way.

Difference between 2D and 3D
Patients are often confused about the difference between 2D and 3D. The former is an image in just the horizontal and vertical dimensions. If you turn a 2D image on its side, you get a flat line. However, a 3D image adds depth. This allows you to see it from multiple different perspectives. It is basically the difference between a photo and a sculpture. This is really apparent in my labiaplasty before and after video results. Since this procedure is in such a delicate area, it has been extremely helpful for my patients to visualize exactly what can be achieved with surgery.
