Motiva® Ergonomix® vs Traditional Implants: What Patients Should Know

A woman posing in a black bra and underwear after breast augmentation with Motiva Ergonomix implants Choosing the right breast implants goes beyond size or shape. You also need to consider how the implants feel, move, and age with your body.

At Epstein Plastic Surgery in Long Island, many women are now exploring Motiva® Ergonomix® implants as an alternative to traditional saline or silicone options.

Dr. Mark Epstein brings over 25 years of experience and advanced surgical training to each procedure. As one of only a few dozen plastic surgeons nationwide who offer minimally invasive breast augmentation (the Preservé™ technique) with Motiva implants, he helps patients find the most appropriate type for their anatomy, aesthetic goals, and personal comfort.

Learn more about the differences between Motiva Ergonomix and traditional implants below.

What Sets Motiva Ergonomix Apart?

Motiva’s Ergonomix implants are engineered for natural movement and feel. They use ProgressiveGel® Ultima – a proprietary silicone gel that is formulated to be ultra-soft and cohesive.

The implants also feature a unique shape-shifting quality. They are round when lying down and more teardrop-shaped when standing.

The SmoothSilk®/SilkSurface® nano-textured shell is designed to reduce capsular contracture as well, and an optional built-in tracking chip (Q-INSIDE®) offers added safety.

Traditional Implants

Traditional implants come in two main varieties:

  • Saline: Saltwater-filled, with a firmer texture and visible rippling risks.
  • Silicone gel: Softer and more natural-feeling, but with a firmer shell and static shape.

These implants have a long-standing safety record. However, they may be less adaptive in body movement or contour.
