How Much Does Preservé Breast Augmentation Cost? A Surgeon Explains the Price

If you have searched for Preservé pricing online, you have probably seen numbers anywhere from $11,000 to $30,000 and wondered why the range is so wide. Here is the direct answer: in the United States, Preservé breast augmentation typically costs between $11,000 and $30,000 depending on the surgeon, the region, and what is included. At my practice in Hauppauge, New York, the fee for Preservé breast augmentation is $16,500, which includes the surgeon's fee, the Motiva Ergonomix implants, the single-use Preservé instrumentation, anesthesia, and all follow-up care at our accredited on-site surgical facility.

As of July 1, 2026, I have performed 165 Preservé procedures, to the very best of my knowledge more than any other practice in the United States, and I served as a Principal Investigator in the FDA clinical trial of Motiva implants. So rather than give you a vague range, I can explain exactly where the money goes and when the technique is worth it.

Why does Preservé cost more than traditional breast augmentation?

Preservé costs more for three specific reasons. First, the procedure uses a dedicated set of precision instruments that are single-use by design. They cannot be resterilized and reused, so that cost is part of every case. Second, Preservé is performed exclusively with Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix implants, a premium implant. Third, the technique demands specialized training and more operative precision than a standard augmentation.

What is included in the price?

A quoted price means nothing until you know what it covers. When you compare quotes, make sure each one includes all of the following. At my practice, the fee covers:

  • Surgeon's fee for the procedure
  • Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix implants
  • The single-use Preservé instrument set
  • Anesthesia services provided by a board-certified physician anesthesiologist (an MD, not a nurse anesthetist)
  • Use of our QUAD A-accredited on-site operating facility
  • All routine post-operative visits

Why do prices vary so much from one practice to another?

Geography drives part of it: Manhattan and Beverly Hills overhead is built into Manhattan and Beverly Hills pricing. Surgeon experience drives the rest. Preservé is a new technique, and the number of surgeons with significant case volume is still small. Some practices also quote a low base price that excludes implants, facility fees, or anesthesia, which is why two quotes are rarely comparing the same thing.

Is Preservé worth the extra cost?

For the right patient, I believe it is, and I say that as someone who has performed thousands of traditional augmentations. You are paying for less tissue disruption, preservation of the ligament structures that support the breast, a faster return to normal life, and the option of avoiding general anesthesia. Most importantly, as a surgeon, the single best reason to choose Preservé is that this method of placing breast implants has the lowest revision and complication rate. That is a powerful economic benefit for the patient. For patients who want implants larger than 315 cc, Preservé is not an option, and a traditional augmentation remains an excellent operation. However, as Preservé selectively volumizes the breast where it needs it the most, requiring an implant above 315 cc rarely ever happens in my experience.

Does insurance cover Preservé? Can I finance it?

Cosmetic breast augmentation, including Preservé, is not covered by health insurance. Most of my patients who finance use Cherry or CareCredit. Our patient coordinator can walk you through monthly payment options during your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Preservé breast augmentation cost on Long Island?

At our Hauppauge practice, Preservé breast augmentation costs $16,500, including implants, the single-use instrumentation, anesthesia, facility fee, and follow-up care. National pricing ranges from roughly $11,000 to $30,000 depending on surgeon experience and location.

Why is Preservé more expensive than regular breast augmentation?

Preservé costs more for three reasons: it uses a dedicated set of single-use precision instruments that cannot be resterilized and reused, it is performed exclusively with premium Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix implants, and the technique requires specialized training and greater operative precision than a standard augmentation.

Does the price include the implants?

At our practice, yes. When comparing quotes elsewhere, always ask whether implants, anesthesia, facility fees, and follow-up visits are included, because many advertised prices exclude them.

Is a cheaper traditional augmentation a bad choice?

Not at all. Traditional augmentation is a proven operation with excellent results, and it is the right choice for patients who want more than 315 cc. Preservé is about a gentler technique, a faster recovery, and lower rates of revision and complications, not about traditional surgery being inadequate.

Disclosure: Dr. Epstein is a paid investigator in the Motiva U.S. FDA clinical trial and is compensated by Establishment Labs to train surgeons on the Preservé breast augmentation technique.
